Exhibition background
The Belt and Road Initiative is the highlight and main line of China-Uzbekistan cooperation, and bilateral relations have entered a golden period of rapid development. China has become Ukraine's second largest trading partner and largest source of investment. In 2022, bilateral trade reached 8.92 billion U.S. dollars, up 19.7 percent year on year. In May 2017, during President Mirtyyoyev's visit to China and attendance at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the two countries signed 105 bilateral documents with a total value of nearly 23 billion U.S. dollars, covering cooperation in oil extraction, construction machinery, mining engineering, power station renovation, agriculture, chemical industry, transportation and other fields.
President Mirziyoyev took office and launched a comprehensive and systematic reform, adopted the "Five priority development Strategies for 2017-2021", and issued nearly 100 presidential decrees on reforms, drawing a blueprint for reforms in the fields of politics, justice, economy, people's livelihood, foreign affairs and national defense. Uzbekistan has a population of more than 36 million. In recent years, China-Uzbekistan economic cooperation has entered a fast track, with broad prospects in transportation, energy, telecommunications, agriculture, finance and production capacity cooperation. Private enterprises represented by Pengsheng, ZTE, Huaxin Cement and Huawei have taken root in the local area and gained a high reputation. In the field of manufacturing, the two sides have jointly implemented tire plants, polyvinyl chloride plants, alkali plants, cotton processing cooperation, ceramic tile, smart phone, leather and shoe manufacturing projects in the China-Uzbekistan Industrial Park have begun to take shape. In the field of infrastructure construction, the two sides have completed the Anglian-Papu railway tunnel, the longest tunnel in Central Asia, and are speeding up key cooperation projects such as the China-Kyrgyztan-Uzbekistan railway and China-Central Asia Gas Pipeline Line D.
