Indo Water 2026: TKFLO’s Insights into Indonesia’s Growing Pump Market

From August 11–13, 2026, TKFLO participated in Indo Water 2026 Expo & Forum in Jakarta, Indonesia, meeting with water industry professionals, EPC contractors, distributors, consultants and end users from across the Indonesian market.

Held at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, Indo Water 2026 brought together companies and professionals across water treatment, wastewater management, industrial water, desalination, pumps, valves, piping and environmental technologies.

For TKFLO, the exhibition was more than an opportunity to showcase pumping products. It provided an important opportunity to listen to the market, understand project requirements and discuss real-world pumping challenges with Indonesian customers.

The key message from the exhibition was clear: Indonesia’s pump market is moving from simple equipment purchasing toward integrated, reliable and application-specific pumping solutions.

What TKFLO Learned from the Indonesian Market

Indonesia has become an increasingly important market for international pump manufacturers.

The country’s large geographic area, extensive coastline, tropical climate and rapidly developing industrial sectors create a wide range of pumping requirements. At the same time, infrastructure development, mining investment, industrial parks, plantation agriculture and urban drainage continue to generate demand for reliable pumping equipment.

Based on discussions at Indo Water 2026 and TKFLO’s experience with international water and industrial projects, several application areas stand out as particularly important for pump suppliers.

1. Municipal Water Supply and Wastewater

Water supply, wastewater treatment and water transmission remain fundamental areas of demand.

Municipal water plants and infrastructure projects typically require pumps capable of continuous operation, stable performance and long service life. For larger water intake and transmission systems, equipment selection must also consider water levels, installation conditions, efficiency, maintenance and long-term operating costs.

For these applications, TKFLO can provide solutions including:

  • Vertical turbine pumps
  • Double suction split casing centrifugal pumps
  • End suction centrifugal pumps
  • Multistage high-pressure pumps
  • Sewage and drainage pumps

Rather than supplying an individual pump, TKFLO can support customers from pump selection and hydraulic design through to material selection, testing, documentation and project delivery.

2. Flood Control and Urban Drainage

Flooding and heavy rainfall remain important challenges for many Indonesian cities and industrial areas.

This creates demand not only for permanent drainage stations but also for mobile and emergency dewatering systems that can be quickly deployed when water levels rise.

TKFLO’s solutions for these applications include:

  • Large-flow axial-flow pumps
  • Mixed-flow pumps
  • Diesel-driven drainage pump sets
  • Self-priming dewatering pumps
  • Mobile pumping systems

For temporary drainage and emergency applications, mobility and rapid deployment can be just as important as pump capacity.

TKFLO’s self-priming and diesel-driven pumping solutions are therefore particularly suitable for construction sites, mining areas, flood control projects and locations where reliable electrical power is not always available.

3. Irrigation and Palm Oil Plantation

Agriculture and plantation industries represent another long-term opportunity in Indonesia.

Large plantations and agricultural areas require reliable water intake, irrigation and drainage systems. Because many installations are located far from major cities, equipment reliability, ease of maintenance and adaptability to local conditions are important considerations.

TKFLO can provide:

  • Vertical turbine irrigation pumps
  • Large-flow mixed-flow pumps
  • Axial-flow pumps
  • Diesel-driven pump sets
  • Customized water intake systems

For large irrigation projects, TKFLO focuses on matching the pump to the complete hydraulic system rather than simply selecting equipment based on flow and head.

Water source conditions, seasonal water-level changes, pipeline losses, installation depth and operating efficiency all need to be considered during the engineering stage.

4. Mining and Indonesia’s Nickel Industry

One of the most important opportunities in Indonesia is the continued development of the mining and nickel industry.

Mining operations and nickel processing projects create demand for pumping systems in mine dewatering, raw-water supply, process water, drainage, cooling and industrial utilities.

Compared with conventional water projects, mining applications can be significantly more demanding.

Pumps may need to handle:

  • High operating hours
  • Abrasive or contaminated water
  • Large flow rates
  • Difficult installation conditions
  • Frequent water-level changes
  • Corrosive environments
  • Remote locations

TKFLO’s product portfolio allows different solutions to be developed according to the actual operating conditions, including heavy-duty dewatering pumps, diesel pump sets, vertical turbine pumps, split-case pumps and corrosion-resistant process pumps.

For mining projects, the objective is not simply to provide a pump with sufficient capacity. The objective is to develop a pumping system that can continue operating reliably under difficult field conditions.

5. Industrial Parks and Process Water

Indonesia’s industrial development is creating another significant source of pump demand.

New industrial parks, manufacturing facilities, chemical plants, mineral-processing facilities and supporting infrastructure require multiple pumping systems throughout the plant.

These can include:

  • Raw-water intake
  • Process water
  • Cooling water
  • Circulation systems
  • Chemical transfer
  • Wastewater
  • Fire protection
  • Drainage

This creates opportunities for suppliers that can provide multiple pump types under one engineering platform.

TKFLO’s product portfolio covers conventional water pumps as well as chemical and industrial pumping applications, allowing customers and EPC contractors to coordinate multiple pump packages with one technical supplier.

6. Seawater, Coastal Projects and Desalination

With Indonesia’s extensive coastline and growing coastal industrial development, seawater applications are another area where customized pump engineering becomes important.

Seawater intake, cooling water, desalination and coastal industrial projects can require careful consideration of:

  • Corrosion resistance
  • Pump material
  • Water intake conditions
  • Large flow rates
  • Long-term operating reliability
  • Maintenance requirements

TKFLO can provide vertical turbine pumps and other centrifugal pumping solutions using materials selected according to the actual seawater conditions, including stainless steel and duplex stainless steel options where required.

For larger projects, third-party inspection and performance testing can also be arranged according to project requirements.

From Pump Supplier to Pumping Solution Partner

One of the most important observations from Indo Water 2026 is that Indonesian customers are increasingly looking beyond the lowest initial price.

For many project applications, the real concerns are:

  • ? Will the pump work reliably?
  • ? Can the supplier understand our working conditions?
  • ? Can the pump be customized?
  • ? Can technical documents be provided on time?
  • ? Can performance be tested?
  • ? Who will support us after delivery?

This is where TKFLO aims to differentiate itself.

Engineering-Based Selection

TKFLO evaluates the actual operating conditions rather than selecting a pump only from a standard catalogue.

Flow, head, water level, installation arrangement, medium, temperature, material, motor speed, efficiency and operating conditions can all be considered during the selection process.

Customized Pump Design

Not every Indonesian project has standard working conditions.

Large-flow flood control, deep water intake, mining dewatering, seawater service and industrial applications can require customized hydraulic and mechanical solutions.

TKFLO’s engineering team can work with EPC contractors and end users to develop solutions around the actual project requirements.

Testing and Quality Assurance

For large and critical projects, performance verification is an important part of equipment procurement.

TKFLO can support performance testing and third-party witness inspection according to project requirements, helping customers and EPC contractors verify pump performance before shipment.

Complete Project Support

TKFLO’s role can extend beyond pump manufacturing to include:

Application analysis Pump selection Technical proposal Material selection Engineering drawings Testing Documentation Delivery Installation support

This project-oriented approach is particularly suitable for EPC contractors and industrial end users.

Looking Ahead: Building Long-Term Partnerships in Indonesia
